So annoyed I got hubby to buy me this for Xmas when it was deal of the week at £20, which I thought would be their best price. In fact, this constant 'bait and reduce' price changing seems to happening a lot with certain companies this year. :(

thing is though - this isn't "bait and reduce" - its a glitch in the Boots online system (the M&S one works the same way) - its the multiples of 342 which gives you the glitch - buy one and you pay £26.66.
  • This was first posted on 29th November,.seems to be a hit or a miss wether or not orders are processed, because the girl o whirl,is on 3 for 2, I ordered a dolls pram, this came up as my " free item" , however my order was only partially processed and pram cancelled...got my girl o whirls delivered today at the grand total of £56 for 2!!, needless to say this delivery is getting returned : /
Ps.If you search the post, sanctuary, champneys, soap and glory glitch, you can read other peoples experience.

  • re bait and reduce...... I order the cheaper product online and once I have received it I return the higher priced one. So far I have not had any issues doing this, this wont suit everyone if they don't have a store near them, but as my store is near my workplace it suits me, is worth a try if you are really annoyed that you have been overcharged like I was. Also I ask the manager to match the online price if it is less this works about 50% of the time. But I am well known at my store so maybe they just want to get rid of me quick.........

I don't think if you buy it at the original price it can be classed as being overcharged, simply paying what you were happy to at the time you bought it...

yes i've done that twice this year - bought 1D perfume for my DD at full price in Boots because at the time I bought it I didn't see any offers on it. 2 days later Superdrug had 20% off, so I returned the Boots one for a full refund and bought the Superdrug one. 4 days after that Tesco had it even cheaper and I had vouchers to use, so I did the same thing - returned the Superdrug one for a full refund, and have kept (and now wrapped) the Tesco one :).

I've had a dispatch Email with what looks like a full order this time..I ordered 2 girl o whirls, and a £30 cabbage patch doll...I'm getting the doll free( I'm wishing id ordered deliver to store on my first order when it was giving me the free dolls pram, maybe I would've got it then),
However I'm delighted with the 2 make up sets and a £30 doll, for the grand total of £50.40( 3 for 2 deducted £30 rather than £40, but I've no need for 3 make up sets)
PS, forgot to say, I used a 10% discount code!
However I'm really editing to say check inside the make up zip packs, of the two I've already had delivered!one has a smashed bronzer, there's brown powder scattered everywhere in the pack!

  • I got 3 of these rather small gift sets. What minimum age range do you reckon they're suitable? Both my 7 and 13 year old nieces adore make-up.

if they both adore make-up, then i'd say they are suitable for both your nieces. My daughter and niece are 12 and 13, i've got them a set of s&g make-up separates from the Boots glitch on them earlier in the year, my daughter loves S&G toiletries too .
