Anyone any good at making up riddles?

Hey,
So, I've decided to make my own crackers (well, my Mum wanted nice posh ones so I've actually bought them but plan to open them up and change them!).
I have presents for each cracker but they're too big to actually go inside so I want to hide them around the house and put a clue as to where they are hidden inside the cracker.
Problem is I'm not creative at all so can't even begin to start making a riddle type clue.
I was thinking hiding places could be:
Dryer
Spare bedroom (currently used as a junk/storage room)
Behind the TV (if there's room)
Underneath the stairs (where some books and DVDs are kept)
Anyone any good at thinking up clever riddles that would need a bit of thinking to solve but easy enough to find in a minute or so?
I should probably think my plans through properly next time!

I remember from ages ago DundeeDoll is fab with poems and such like. I've not seen her about for ages but might be worth a pm hth xThe secret of Christmas
It's not the things you do at Christmastime
But the Christmas things you do
All year through0 -
Google is your friend here
Try putting something like this in the search bar
Riddles for hiding gifts around the house
Christmas treasure hunt
Even if they are not exactly what you are looking for, they will give you some ideas. A lot of the clues given can be tweaked.0 -
Rhyming couplets are always good for things like this, but I'm not great with them:
Fireplace:
I glow in orange and gold,
Always here to keep out the cold. (Really bad I know)
Or you could do one where the place is the rhyme:
I'm the place where you lay your head
At the end of the day, your trusty old....... (bed)
Dryer
If your clothes are wet, but you haven't a fire,
Place them in me and I'll make them ........(dryer/drier, they're homophones.....I make awful jokes)0 -
I would be hopeless at what you are asking so instead I would do a quiz (much easier).
D - The month Christmas is celebrated - December
R - Name of one of santa's reindeer - Rudolph
Y
E
R
Questions are too easy but you get the idea, you could even make it personal eg what month is Aunty xxxx wedding anniversary.0 -
Couple of quick riddles for you......
Dryer: You'll be hot under the collar if you don't find your gift here!
Spare bedroom: Most famous song by "Living in a Box"
Behind the TV: Hopefully your gift will get a good reception
Underneath the stairs........ no idea!!!0 -
