I am after a 4.5 tog, king size pure or mainly down duvet that doesn't cost the best part of £200, I've looked at the usual John Lewis, M & S etc - can anyone suggest anywhere else

We were looking at a down duvet, but changed our mind when we felt a microfibre one - they are really great and in my opinion are better than down. We bought ours from http://www.duvetandpillowwarehouse.co.uk/products/duvets/duvet_micro.html
as an example, I would suggest going into a department store and feeling one, they are soft and light and we currently have a 4.5 tog one on our bed (we bought the all seasons) and it is absolutely perfect. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

We bought our daughter one from Ikea - it's lovely. Where do you get a £200 price tag from? We bought a kingsize Fogarty goose down duvet from TK Maxx for about £35.0 -
I got a pure down duvet from Costco for £45 for a double size. They had single & king size too but don't remember the price.0

Debenhams have nice Duvets usually, good quality. I believe their sale has just started too.
TBH I would see what is around in July once all the sales have started, if you can wait 3 or 4 weeks.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I searched high & low to get a down 4.5 tog (easy in higher togs), anyway what I did was bought a summer/winter 3 in 1 type thing.
Its a 9.5 tog for use in the spring & autum
A 4.5 for the summer
Then they attach together with velcro for the winter.
I never use them together (as I have the heating too high in the winter).
So if you can't find a 4.5 real one, you get a 4.5 in those double quilt packs.
It was about £1400 -

I just looked on the Ikea website, they got a 3 in 1 that has a 4.5 tog in £89.99 for a king. Not bad. I know where I will go next time:beer:

I seem to think Ikea's sizes for bedding aren't necessarily standard - check the details in case it won't fit your duvet cover. The IVF worked;DS born 2006.0
