Hi guys,
Just filing all the paperwork from our recent house sale and I am probably being stupid but I'm awfully confused......
mortgage statement received for period 1/10/2012 to 30/9/2013
balance outstanding at 30/9/2013 £89075.07
discharge of mortgage £160.00
total payable as at 30/9/2013 £89,235.07
Our solicitor requested redemption figure and the letter we have shows a redemption figure of £89,580.03 for redemption 31/10/13
I am confused how the amount has increased despite a further mortgage payment being made??
Help!!!:o

In advance (I think!!) we actually completed on Nov 29th so had paid 2 further payments of £720 (actual payment required £718.10) and the final redemption figure was £89177.65.
Just trying to check if correct or if we should be expecting any surplass back.Bit of a Florida Fan :j

Just looking on last statement (30/9) we paid on the 22nd or every month and it says payment due on the 30th of every month if that tells you in advance or arrears.Bit of a Florida Fan :j

TBH I can't remember, so all I can suggest is you ask them to give you a breakdown of the redemption statement.
If you made a payment around the time the remortgage completed, you'll probably find it back in your bank account a couple of weeks later...I am a mortgage broker.
