Whose name is on the log book? I assume this wasn't aa car finance loan but a personal one? If his names on the log book and it was a personal loan he can do what he wants to the car and doesn't have to pay the loan off from the proceeds.
Sorry!0 -
But on the log book it says it isn't proof of ownership0

V5 is details of the registered keeper, not necessarily the owner. Proof of ownership would be an invoice or a receipt I think.
The fact that it was paid using a joint loan isn't necessarily conclusive. Unless linked to the car somehow, it's just a loan, it might have been taken out for the car but doesn't necessarily evidence a link to joint ownership of the car.0 -
So could I go and get it ,as it was agreed I have car they have house
Is legal advice best , as I left savings too which have gone0 -
So, you've lost a share of the savings, the car that you thought was going to be yours is being sold without your agreement and they are still getting the house?
Sounds like you're in danger of being stitched up like a kipper. If there is such a thing.0 -
When you split was there any documentation?
With regards to the car, if you have a spare key and have some form of proof (doesn't matter even it's a scrap of paper) that someone intended you to have the car then go and pick it up but be prepared for the police to be called when ex finds it gone.
Who purchased the car? Was it cash or a card payment, which card did you use? Can you prove that monies were taken from your own account to cover the purchase? Who has been responsible for insuring it and picking up repair bills?
If you say basically that all of this is in your name, then you have a good case. Unfortunately if you don't then you are going to end up in costly legal proceedings and potentially criminal charges.
You need to get some proper legal advice.0 -
