Microsoft Complete (Xbox One Warranty)

Hi guys,

Looking for some opinions regarding the Microsoft Complete Warranty package.

For £60 you get an additional two years on your warranty and it also covers 2x Controllers and your Kinect as well.

What I am wondering is, is it worthwhile going for this? or should I be protected under the Sales of Goods act should the console die in a few years time?

Cheers

Depends on if it covers accidental damage or not, I'm not entirely sure if SoG act covers you should you spill something over the machine or drop a controller. If it fails mechanically you'd likely find it covered under SoG as you'd expect something you pay £430+ for to last longer than 2 years in this case!

Bit of an unfair statement to make based around problems with one game! Besides that fact, did you consider the fact it wasn't the Xbox which was the problem - it was most likely the game, particularly as at that time EA were still sticklers for online codes.

Getting "ripped off" is also subjective - no one is after all forcing you to buy the thing.

  • PS4 is a better option. Although it's had some troubles, Sony's reputation is much better than Microsofts.

Depends what bit of the reputation your talking about..

Sony did the rootkit stuff on PC's and the PS3 apparently reports back the name of every DVD/Bluray played on the PS3. but the PS4 is cheaper.

Sony had the yellow ring of death, Microsoft the red ring.

Best thing to do is buy what your friends have so you can swap games, both companies are as bad as each other in most respects, but I'd leave it a year or so unless your a dedicated gamer, games are still full RRP, don't take full advantage of the new capabilities, and there's not a lot of them for either console

I don't think it covers accidental damage and I know I wouldn't be covered for accidental anyway. My xbox is in the TV Unit out of the way of any spillages or drops.

My main concern is if it should break mechanically, which you say should be covered under the Sales of Goods act!

So perhaps might hold of purchasing the Microsoft Complete package...

    Thanks for the reply! :T

Apart from Sony being hacked and thousands and thousands of people's credit card detailsbeing posted online. ill informed post. They both have issues. I'veowned 2 xXboxand neither ever has had a problem.
