Am not hiding from it any longer.... Have stopped using credit, any form of credit at all.. And now to tackle the bills - have pulled my head out of the sand and a, tackling things so thought I would start with a thread on here to keep a log of how I'm doing and remind me when things get crappy how far I have got. Arranged to pay off a debt at £80 a week, steep but I agreed and will suck it up
Will be £800 in 10 weeks and have 8 weeks to go
Started with challenges, 1 debt 100 days - £50 off £585 water bill so far
Paid my whole electric bill today £168 and switched to ecotricity via quidco so £14 cash back
Got a refund of £13.50 for something I was mis-sold on eBay
£50 off a debt of £130 getting paid tomorrow and def before the end of the month
Will sit down when I'm feeling a bit braver and calculate the whole lot I owe.. Not feeling so brave at the mo...

had a nightmare over xmas...after wonga forcibly started taking £80 a week from me but it means an £800 debt will be gone in 10 weeks.. by feb so while things are tough they are okay.. ish.. and one will be gone. i need to get the total debts i have written down.Ive absondoned the £585 i was paying off its just too much we wont eat
I did look at step change but at almost £400 repayments every month was what they said i would be able to afford on a DMP and thats just not realistic however they worked that out so am going to do it myself. wondering what the point is in these charities when you put in your circumstances and they tell you you can afford what you cant... if i could afford £400 a month repayments i wouldnt be in debt would I?? ridiculous! made me feel very angry and hopeless to be honest the paperwork took almost a month to come so I just abandoned them as a dead loss ( do people really think they are good?? how come?)
get this £800 paid down by feb and then Ill tackle the rest. Better late than not at all...
got my electricity bill cleared and switched providers so next is the gas I think
I also paid a £130 debt before xmas off in its entirety so i guess im not doing that badly... feeling a bit disheartened right now thats allDFW £10923 (nov2014)0 -
another update.. saw a pic on facebook which showed a saving plan.. £1 first week and so on.. up to £52 in the last week makes over £1,300 at the end of the year. Have started with it backwards as xmas is always pricey so £52 put away this week, £51 next week and so on... gonna see if I can save enough to visit my friend in Montana.. she left today
