Two partime jobs do i pay ni...

I am presently working partime 3 days a week with a company earning £7300 a year. I do not pay tax and very little NI contributions.
Another company has approached me to work 1 day a week, the yearly salary would be £2080 and paid by cheque every month. Again there is no tax element or NI element.
I think I will have to pay more NI because of this new job - what do I do? Do I contact Inland Rev or wait for them to contact me?

Provided that the two employers are not connected then each job will be treated separately for NI so on the figures you have given you will not pay any NI on second job and NI on first job will not be affected. You do not need to contact anyone about NI; do you know what you need to do about tax though?0

Thanks for your reply. I don't pay tax with current employer and when you add both salaries together (£9380) it falls within the 2014 tax limit Of (£9440) doesn't it?0

Yes but at the moment your full tax allowance is going to your current employer and when you advise your second employer that you have another job they should tax you for 20% of all they pay you. You will then need to contact HMRC to get your tax code split between the two employers. Thanks for your reply.
