Hotel's Mistake

Hi Everyone. I just wanted to know if i have a leg to stand on here. I was browsing a hotels website and clicked on booking a room. The rate which came up was much much cheaper than what it should have been, £30.00 a night instead of £300.00 a night. Noticing this i booked the room. However rather expectedly i received a call from the hotel the next day telling me they put the rate was put in incorrectly and that i will have to pay the difference of cancel the booking. Obviously i wish to do neither of these, they have since come back to me with a slightly reduced rate but on £250.00. I just want to know if the hotel has a legal right to honour this price and my booking, after all it was their mistake and not mine, so why should i have to pay more?? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Short answer is No, they don't have to honour the mistaken price.0

They refused your offer of £30, nothing you can do about it.0

Ultimately you need to read the terms and conditions you agreed to in terms of cancellation and when a contract is formed. If they are charging £300 a night its almost certain that they can afford quarter decent solicitors to write those terms which would allow them to cancel a booking when an error has been made.0

It's a mistake, they happen, deal with it.

This has been covered many, many times.0 -
You don't have to pay more. They can't make you pay more. They won't make you pay more.after all it was their mistake and not mine, so why should i have to pay more??
If you don't want to pay more you can cancel the booking at be back at the point where you were before making the booking.
Anything else they offer you is a goodwill gesture. Which means you being nice to them. You might be able to negotiate a bit of a better price, but I can't see them going below £200 from what you've said. If you don't like the cheapest they'll do it for walk away and get your £30 back.
Travelodge do some good value rooms. You can generally get cashback on them, too.0
