As anyone used the shelf liners that are advertised in papers and magazines you put them at the bottom of the freezer section to stop a build up of ice. Just had to defrost mine again awful job I know next time it will be a frost free one.

My mum has got one and says its OK - still need to defrost but not as often. Am thinking of trying them myself. I am sure someone out there in OS world has a freezer full of them and can give you a better reply.0

Hi there
I have just seen them advertised..but i have found that by wiping the freezer over with neat comfort/fabric softener when you clean it..the next time you defrost it any ice comes away really quickly....long story how i found this out-involving hubby switching off a freezer filled to the top for 2 weeks:eek: ...all i do now is wipe it over, close it up and switch it on for half an hour empty and then its ready to go..and i have never had the smell taint the food...you can do the same with glycerine(in the cake baking aisle in the supermarket)....it stops the ice building up and what does appear doesnt freeze as hard:T :T :T-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
Thanks MrsMicawber for that tip...I have two freezers badly needing to be defrosted atm will have to do one this weekend and think I will then let the other one empty out and do it next week...one needs to be replaced really but am no longer prepared to go into debt to buy such things....
Will try the glycerine as I have some but don't use conditioner.

Haven't tried it but would have thought rubbing a little fat/oil on the surfaces would stop the ice clinging so strongly or building up as much.0
