Yes you are sad and believe me, when you get to pay off your debts you find other ways to become a mortgage free wannabee nerd and use the Mortgage overpayment calculator to replace the snowball calculator:D
Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!

This made me laugh
no you're not sad, I havn't got a spreadsheet but keep a permanent spending diary!! Isn't is strange how this site has changed so many peoples attitude for the better. Yesterday I went to pay some money into the bank, simple you may think but she kept me there for about 10 mins trying to flog me a dodgy monthly fee account(we all know they are pants as Martin says), a credit card, and then as a last ditched attempt, a mortgage, by this time I was getting fed up so I told her that I didn't make any financial decisions without checking out MoneySavingExpert, you should have seen her face drop!!!
Superb! made me chuckle. :TOfficial DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 297 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts

How exciting!!! I didn't know there was one, something else to look at.......repeatedly.................at least 10 times a day :rotfl:0 -
I think its bloomin' great reading each others situations and the little tallies of pounds coming down at the bottom of our signatures ... I used to get that sick feeling in the pit of my stomach and have those dreaded sleepless nights...
I'm now sad in the fact that on my way to work there are a number of routes I can take and depending on how early / late I am - I now choose to take the cheapest (which unfortunately is the longest). It costs £2.00 and I have a lil tiny skip in my step along the way knowing that I've saved myself a teeny weeny bit of money (80p).
The best thing is I'm due to move soon (another money saving accomplishment) and it will mean I can cycle to work - a saving of £50 per month!!!
Remember - its the little things that count and make a difference!
And now I'm going to go away and do my own lil tally thing at the bottom of my screen!!!lil redhead!

I came to the conclusion years ago that I am sad. I like Star Trek and fantasy books and did physics at uni so I must be a geek!
But I guess its each to their own, my brother took the p%ss out of me but he reads the books he mocked me for reading.
I think it comes down to what makes makes us happy. I am so looking forward to finishing the month off without being up to my OD limit AND I paid off the last 50 pounds of my Egg card. Now I am toying with the idea of reducing my OD limit and I know enjoy thinking about that kind of stuff. I cant immagine how good it will be when I am in credit at the end of the month. I will be jumping for joy then!Debt Free - done

Put it this way. I would rather be sad than in debt for the rest of my life

I love playing with the spreadsheet and seeing how much my savings are going to earn once I am debt free. I wish I had become sad when I was 18!
