Hey, hoping you lovely peeps can help. I've just munched the last mini gherkin from my jar and now had some leftover pickling vinegar with dill. Any suggestions of what I could do with it before I chuck it?

er - why chuck it? why not just use it as 'sprinkling' vinegar? you obviously like the taste of gherkins!
I do this with the leftover 'pickled onion vinegar'. gives a different dimension to a bag of crisps or chips.0 -
My Dad used to slice up some cucumber and put it in the vinegar to enjoy with a salad.

I'm another vote for using it up on your chips !0

Ohh, love the idea of slicing up cucumber and putting it in, can I literally slice and jar the cucumber?
I have used pickles vinegar on chips before, did think about this but wasn't sure about the added dimension of dill in it too. Might give both a try :-)Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Use it as you would normal vinegar, even if it means pouring it down your sink with some bicarbonate of soda to clean it! I've got a jar of beetroot vinegar in the fridge waiting to dye wool!

was going to say put in in your washing machine and hot wash to de-scale and clean, but not sure about the dill!
go with the cucumber!
I sometimes make a mix or chopped onion, cucumber and tomatoes in vinegar and have with popadums:)LIVE SIMPLY * GIVE MORE * EXPECT LESS * BE THANKFUL0 -
peel some carrots cut then into strip or batons and place them in the vinegar leave a couple days and enjoy picked carrots yum yum0

Thanks everyone for the pickled veg ideas, I must admit I'm guilty of always leaving that one sad carrot in the fridge so that's deff two birds with one stone.
Asparagus1968 - yes I might save the washing machine idea for future non- dill reference or I fear I might end up looking like I'm wearing seaweed :rotfl:Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Sprinkle it on the grass verge outside your house. Dogs will avoid using it as a toilet until the next downpour. The beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.
Thanks to everyone who contributes to this wonderful forum. I'm very grateful for the guidance and friendliness that I always receive from you.
