Ex-Employer Gave Me a Bad Reference
Comments

It's a non issue to me.
The OP is young enough for any reference to be tenuous at best. Most apprenticeship adopters are in it for the slave labour and low wages, and that in itself discredits the reference especially at it is seen you worked there since age 14 - an age where school should be playing an important part.
Just tell future employers the truth, because given the circs mentioned, just adds belief to your application.0 -
The only information we have is that the reference says "I did not want to do the job any more"' which is factually correct.Hope over Fear. #VoteYes0

OP - are you getting job offers that are then withdrawn because of the reference, or are you not getting that far?
I'm not sure if this is a problem that has already bitten you, or if you're just worried that the reference will be an issue. Usually references aren't taken up until the job is offered (some industries are different), and at 18 I'd be very surprised if a references that said "she doesn't like this job anymore" was a problem.0
