Just had a scoot about the internet and opinion is cupboard dry needs finishing in an airing cupboard, ready to wear is just that,bone dry ready to wear.
Only sensor dyers have these settings apparently.
They have a sensor that detects when the load is dry and turns the heating element off, but continues to tumble cool to keep off creases.

Mine was the cheapest at the local shed when I bought it. Its not a fancy one! I have a really smart washing machine because I care more about that. I see this as a 'nice, luxury extra, but would cope fine without' and was not prepared to pay more than had to. I prefer line drying anyway, which is free!0 -
