Nearly finished!

So, I've nearly finished wrapping my Christmas presents :j

I just need to wrap a few small items for the inlaws, a gift for my friend's daughter, and cellophane five hampers. I also need to write my Christmas cards...... :o

I love deciding what everyone will have, love shopping for presents and extras, but can't stand wrapping or writing cards. I quite like doing the hampers though. This year, my mum and a friend will both receive a hamper, each filled with various items suitable for them. For example, my mum's has some jars and packets of food that I know she likes, including posh marmalade, socks with a honeycomb top, steredent, T shirt, toiletries and a book. Both of these hampers are in hat boxes from Dunelm Mill. They have a poppy design, so I'm using red ribbon and a red and white spotted bow from Tesco.

My daughter is having kitchen hamper, as she is moving into her own home early next year. It has all sorts in it, from a rather nice wooden recipe stand to cleaning cloths. Everything is in a laundry basket, so it will take quite a bit of cellophane to wrap - but being newly moneysaving, she will probably save the cellophane to use next year :D.

My niece and nephew are getting a money hamper each. The cash will be clipped into an elf's hat (two hats from Home Bargains for 99p, and supposed to be for wearing in your hair!). They also have a money box each, a toilet roll printed with ten pound notes, gold and silver chocolate coins, a bar of chocolate designed to look like a note, and napkins and tissues printed as though they are notes. I'm not quite sure what to put them in yet, though. I've no suitable boxes, except shoe boxes, but I might wrap those I gold paper. Another idea is to buy a bedroom bin each, but I'm not sure about that - the only link with money is the way they waste it :rotfl:

Hopefully everyone else is almost finished too - I know some people will have been very organised and have everything wrapped weeks ago :)

  • What unusual tinsel you have in your house :rotfl:. I must show this to my lad, he'll either burst out laughing or tell me that it's naughty to put loo roll on the tree :D (he has Down's Syndrome; my other son will definitely have a chuckle :))

My kiddies are 3 and nearly 5 and both of them have really got into the elf thing this year. It's so much fun. They had a "snowball" fight last night with cotton wool balls all over the floor, my youngest put them on the naughty step :rotfl:
They will both be aghast at this, can't wait to see their reactions...

I hate wrapping presents, I start off neat and tidy and by the end I'm just scrunching the paper round stuff and sticking the tape on, sometimes I even forget what ive wrapped and who its for and have to unwrap it to remind me.....I'm 45 though...that's my excuse.
  • I love wrapping presents and would gladly do it all day. Now writing out cards that's a different thing!!!!

OK everybody, I've booked three coaches. Get all your presents together, with sticky labels on them saying who they're for then we'll pack them into the storage bits on the coach and drive them round to Mrs. Boo Boo. This will be our Christmas Present to her. She's going to LOVE it! ;)

Remember: however thin you slice something, there are always two sides to everything.
  • Juliehalluk, 12 posts, all identical. Whilst I agree that getting batteries in is a good idea (I keep a good stock of batteries all year round), all of your posts are the same, and advertise a company.
