Verbatim are one of the most reliable brands. TDK, Sony, Philips & Maxell are also very good (in no particular order).
High St shops often have bargains - but usually in the form of buy 2 x 50 packs get one half price. You need to do the math to work out which specific deal is any good.
There was some movement some months ago in the trade when one of the main UK distributors was bought out when they were due to go belly up. As a result many of the online retailers have either closed or stopped doing blank media. e.g. https://www.lynxdv.com
Small business, probably not the cheapest but usually not far out Pricebusters.

Another small business is SVS Media. These are more of a trade company - we use them but buy thousands of discs. Postage os free on orders over £100. I could buy cheaper but at least I know I'm buying genuine product and supporting a local company.

If you're not too bothered about buying from major outfits look at Staples, Tesco, Adsa etc. We bought a mini-mountain of blank discs from Tesco in their Tesco brand, white box sell off sale a few months ago - not one failure CDs worked out at 2p each, DVDs 3.3p each.0 -

I'd reccomend anything with a Ritek (G05) dye. Its the only discs I will ever use.
If your looking for them cheap try www.svp.co.uk or www.ukdvdr.co.uk.

Staples had an instore bogof in Verbatim the other week, worked out at £12.99 for 100 + or -, think it might have finished sadly.
You will not go wrong buying from SVP or Bigpockets. Look at customer reviews.ac's lovechild0 -

Ash.
Totally agree re: G05 dye. I have never had a 'coaster' with these disks and they are available for about 12-13p per disk on a spindle from the above sites.0 -
I generally use Digi Promo (http://www.digitalpromo.co.uk) for my stuff but i go to the shop to get my stuff but have used the mail order side once or twice0

Totally agree, SVP are the best, their customer service is the best I've seen by an e-tailer.
Look out for their discount shipping weekends where they normally ship orders over £30 for 99p, they happen every couple of months.Don't take life too seriously, no one gets out alive0 -
Verbatims 50 pack DVD -R / +R - bogof (100 for £12.99) in staples.
(Verbatim DVDs made in Japan & Taiwan are being rated as being better)
DVD-R's from Japan were at the bottom of the bin - easy to idendify difference as the ones from japan have no black lip at bottom - just shrink wrap. loads from india though. DVD+R all seemed to be from Taiwan.
on pack apart from verbatim says 'a mitsubishi kagaku media comp' (on DVD-R)0
