No, you'll need to go check the EU code to find source on the product pack.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
quite a few butchers will freeze there chicken, then sell it defrosted under the disguise of being fresh.~Chameleon~ wrote: »Not allowed to by law as it would break all the food safety regulations
well then why not sell the chicken frozen? They are selling meats that have been frozen in the fridge. They are often still partial frozen at point of sale.
You just put on the chicken, not suitable for freezing. Quite a few supermarkets labels will say not suited for re-freezing.0 -

do you have the code?
THis is not a supermarket selling chicken under there own brand?
It will be under a super market selling a item from a independent brand?0 -
Michelin starred chicken isn't the same as frozen stuff from Iceland !
Daylesford organic breasts from Ocado are 20.99 per kg which isn't the most expensive mentioned on this thread. However I find chicken breasts so uninteresting that I buy organic chicken thighs or drumsticks at 10.99 a kilo.0 -

Not necessarily. Many of the large Dutch poultry producers will use whatever branding a supplier wants if it's a large enough quantity to warrant the cost, or will supply unbranded so the supplier adds their own.
Like I said, you'll have to check product codes to find which specific producer supplies which supermarket. I can't remember off the top of my head.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -

You can remember the ingredient dec but not the supplier or product code.
Between the major supermarkets that would be about 80 lines to look at.0 -

No, I have the details of the ingredients in my study notes from previous research. I also have a list of Dutch poultry producers which supply the UK supermarkets. If you give me a product code I can tell you which producer supplied it. Care to nitpick any further?“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
had a look at few supermarkets including Iceland and not seen any meat quid levels below 80%. Nothing near 60% min meat.0
