I am looking for an upgrade on Family Tree Maker - I am still using Version 2012 and see that 2014 is now out...
I assumed that PLATIGNUM would be superior to DELUXE but may be wrong.. ?
Because Amazon offer PLATIGNUM at £29.99 with 6 months free access to Ancestry - whereas DELUXE is approx £10 more expensive and includes only 3 months free access
I am befuddled - can someone please advise ?

I was looking at this last year and I still have my notes that the
Deluxe pack comes with 3 months Essential Membership
Platinum pack comes with 6 months Premium Membership.
I would therefore say the Platinum is definitely superior to the Deluxe.
Btw other suppliers to look at are Play.com; The Hut, S&N Genealogy and PC World. They were the ones I was comparing prices on. Also if you have Tesco Clubcard, they have offered Ancestry software as one of the rewards before - I am not sure if it is still available.
Hope you report back on which one you bought and where."Go placidly amid the noise and haste and remember what peace there may be in silence": Desiderata0 -

It also appears that the basic access is provided by DELUXE and more access by PLATINUM
Amazon is BY FAR the cheapest option (for the non-download version)..
They offer Platinum (with 6 months (deluxe) access to Ancestry included)
I don't understand why they charge so little for the better package though !!

PC world offer the download version at the same price and £59.97 for the software version
I want my hands on the CD/DVD version at £29.99
Tesco appears to redirect buyers to alternative sites (ancestry, my-history.co.uk etc)0 -

Thanks - I can get the same thing from Amazon at £29.95
Which I am about to order !!0 -
Family Tree Maker 2014 Platinum Edition for PC (including 6 month Ancestry subscription) is available via Tesco Clubcard vouchers for £19. Product code is P0202.
Unsure if this is just a download or an actual boxed/CD copy of the software - waiting for Tesco to reply and clarify.
Oops - tried to post a link, but not allowed to. I googled "Family Tree Maker 2014 Tesco" and it was the first page that came up in the search. Hope this helps!0 -

Thanks - that works out at a spend of £1900 (to get £19 vouchers) - so it is
not cheap !!
and it is email delivery - so I (probably) can't install it on two PC's !!0 -

It's just a voucher code that is delivered by email.
You enter that code on the Avanquest website and the physical product arrives by post a couple of days later.0
