Advice on Consent to Let with the Halifax

Hi

I am looking for some advice. I have my mortgage with the Halifax on a 3 years fixed until 31/05/2014. I have been told I can transfer to a new product 3 months prior and any ERF will be waived.

My question is, being a existing customer if I transfer my product to a new fixed will I be able to apply for a ‘consent to let’ early into the transfer? I am potentially looking at moving back home to support my parents for 12-18months maximum. It is only a temporary arrangement.

Any help will be much appreciated.
Thank you
NJW

The thread I bumped for you yesterday;-

Provided your request for consent to let has not been logged on your account, you should be able to request a product transfer to a new residential product. Then request consent to let, with you being able to see out the revised residential product before Halifax imposing one of its CTL products on you when the revised residential product ends.

There is no minimum period between requesting the product transfer and requesting consent to let. However, as you have already enquired, you may find the product transfer on offer is now only a CTL product. See post #12 in the linked thread.
