I was in M and S today and the person in front of me got 2 baking potoates and these cost £1.57 !!
Just to warn people who might be thinking of putting a few in their basket whilst rushing round. This is way overpriced and even Tesco sells 4 for less than a pound.
Most grocers also sell a biggish bag for a pound round here. So no need to get ripped off.

Yes but they weren't just baking potatoes.........they were M&S baking potatoes

Without size (or weight, rather,) impossible to say that that is expensive.
I know that the four-packs of baking potatoes sold in Sainsbury's or Tesco's do not usually contain potatoes of a size that I would view as a baking one.
If they were large potatoes (say 4, 450g) then they are not significantly more expensive than the standard price in T or JS.
£1.57 for 850g is £1.85 a kilo - not much more than their price for loose jacket potatoes.
Of course if these were not a traditional size but a more modern size...0 -
Well have you seen the hamper for £999.99p great price if you wanted to treat yourself! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0

I'll take two! HaHa. For some reason if you put things in a basket & call it a hamper its fine to sell at silly money. They usually contain 50% of things no-one likes anyway.
One would prefer to send a their staff to harrods to personalise a hamper.0 -
I'm too tight ... er ... MSE .. . to pay for "baking potatoes". I use regular spuds and pick out the biggest and/or cook 2-3 instead of 1-2.0
