The exit penalty consists of the charges that you would have paid to maturity if you hadn't left. They deduct them in a lump on the way out if you go early. If you stay they will deduct the charges on an annual basis.
Either way you have to pay them, so you might as well go now.Trying to keep it simple...

Sorry EI, this is just not true, the charges are taken out at the start of the contract. If you think about it,it doesn't really matter a lot, you will pay themn anyway, but it IS important to know what they've been up to! All the rest is marketing Hype0
