Just wondering if anyone else has views on them?
I know they're around the country & not a one man band, so i did expect their prices to be higher because of that.
We were put onto them by someone we know as we have a damp issue in our house which needs sorting. The person who put us on to them was very happy with their work & their price.
All would be fine. I had an idea of the price of the work but when the guy came & assessed i thought my original idea would double. Turns out not - my original thought was correct (actually £89shy, but hey ho).
It was only when talking to people i work with about the quote where they talked about how expensive that was, it made me think.
I wonder whether they're just calling the amount a lot (it is - to me), or the price for the work is a lot (open to opinion), which are 2 different things.
Then i've spoken to a 1 man band builder who slated their work & their prices. Said Peter Cox quoted a job for £6k & he did it for £1.5k no problem, no complaints. I do expect the 1-man to slate the national company though.
Then a roofer who says he also does plastering but not damp proofing also commented on their pricing but went on to say their plastering work was awful.
Your view on them if you've experienced them?
