Advice on EE/T-Mobile/Lowell Debt

Hi everyone,
I went on to a debt management plan in September 2009. At this point I owed T-Mobile £80 for an old phone contract. I tried desperately (lots of hours) on the phone to add them to my debt management plan but know one at T-mobile knew who exactly I owed the money to to pay so it didn't get settled. It changed on my experian credit report in Feb 2011 to say payments were up to date so by this point I stopped trying to pay as I had got no where for a year.
I've since checked my noddle credit score and it appears on there that I have been defaulting since 2009! I'm slightly aggrevied by this as I did really try to pay it off. Since registering with noddle I've had a letter about the debt to say Lowell have just bought it and can I start paying it of which i'm happy to do. I'm just really unhappy that its been defaulting on my score for the last 3 years when TMobile couldn't tell me who to pay.
Is there anything I can do about this?

Even if you had added it to your DMP it is very likely they would have recorded a default on your credit file.
As long as lowell keep the default registered as back in 2009 then there isn't really anything you can do about it.
Obviously if they put a later default date on then you could write to complain and insist it is backdated to when you actually stopped paying the account.
Did none of your other creditors on your DMP issue a default? if they did then one more isn't likely to make much difference, and as its dated back in 2009 it will still drop off in 2015.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Hi Tixy,
Sorry I dont think I've explained this very well. On my expeerian credit rating after I made contact to pay and they couldnt find who I should be paying they just stopped recording anything on my account.
On the Noddle account which I only recently gained access to they have been registered a default every month since 2009! Even thought I really did try to pay off they just couldnt tell me who I needed to pay.
Many thanks,

Don't understand the above, although I may be having a blond moment ? can blokes have blond moments, anyway, I digress, surely you owe T-Mobile the money, how can they say they don't know who you should pay ? explain please, I would assume you had a mobile number linked to an account so which part of this is not right ???I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
