wii lego rock band - help a mum who knows nothing please??

Options
hi

We have had the wii for years but have never had any rock band style games - so i have bought the kids the lego rock band game for xmas and now need to get instruments for it...

i have got the Guitar Hero guitar for £5 second hand

as i have read this is compatible...

i have also bought this
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Rock-Band-Wireless-Pro-Keyboard/dp/B003RS19XE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1386325594&sr=8-1&keywords=wii+keyboard

but am now worried this will not work with this game .....does anyone know?

Daughter is learning piano so i thought the keyboard would be good so if it does not work with this game does anyone know what game it will work with??

I might get the beatles rockband game for DH - does anyone know if these instruments work with this game?

any other advice appreciated....

I don't know if it will work with that game, the description only mentions guitar, bass, drums and vocals.

The controller (I have one, bought it from Home Bargains for about £7), has a standard MIDI output, so it will work with any sound module or another keyboard with MIDI input.

As mentioned in one of the Amazon reviews, this is incredibly cheap for this kind of controller keyboard, a proper one would cost at least 10 times the amount.

so do you think the keyboard will be rubbish? I know it was very cheap but hoped it would be an introduction, i have got the guitar hero guitar for £5 as well - thinking ok - if they are rubbish but the kids enjoy the game i will get better ones....

so what drums and guitar and microphone would you recommend? bearing in mind its for kids ....
    thanks

  • I know it's not rubbish, I use it with a Korg 05R/W synthesiser and it work great, it was made to use with Rock Band 3 (wii) so it may be worth holding out and getting a s/h copy of that if and when they outgrow Lego.

    There's a controller compatibility chart on http://rockband.wikia.com/wiki/Controller_compatibility

but it doesn't mention the keyboard at all.

I don't know which controllers are suitable I guess you'll just have to look at reviews for each one. I only have Guitar Hero for the PC and the guitar that came with it, but it seems to be a nice solid piece of kit.

I have the Beatles rock band limited edition for xbox360 and it is great. If it works with the wii the same you will have a lot of fun. Can't comment on compatability.

    Maybe this may help
