Can anyone recommend a good cleanser/face wash for sensitive skin that removes eye make up too without having to use a separate product. My skin is really itchy and sore at the moment.

Hi sixties ,
You would be better with a good face wipe rather than a wash which I think are very drying .
I can recommend johnsons as they clean & moisturise at the same time, but if your skin is sore , perhaps a very mild soap and your usual moisturiser0 -
I can highly recommend Liz Earle Hot Cloth cleanser, my skin is ultra sensitive and it does not bother my skin at all.
My skin feels soft and hydrated after use as well as clean and it does take off eye make up. Have a look on the web site...

I have dry/sensitive skin too.
I've been using no7's hot cloth cleanser for a while now and really like it. It's a similar product too the Liz Earle one , but a bit gentler I think.
I tend to put in on, let in soak in , then wash with the cloth in the shower. Removes all traces of eye make up too.
It great value too, lasts for ages.
It's often on 3 for 2 or similar in boots too.0 -

Posted at the same time as me :rotfl: :rotfl:
I didn't know that Boots did a hot cloth cleanser but will have a look at it, I cannot imagine it being gentler than Liz Earle but worth a try. Liz Earles has won so many awards and smells lovely but we are a money saving forum; so I will investigate.Grant me the serenity to accept the people I cannot change, the courage to change the one I can and the wisdom to know it's me"0 -

I find the opposite....wipes really irritate my skin.
Sixties, I have rosacea and sent ove skin due to fairly hefty medication which changes fairly often. I find that avene cleanser is the most reliable wash on/off for me. It is a light gel, cuts through make up well. DH introduced me to avene, his dermatologist recommended it to him!
I'd also consider the rest of your products. I kept going back to very basics and using just Nivea ditching my mid range and high end stuff thinking Nivea was mild.....before realising that Nivea was one of the things that was aggravating my skin the most. Aveeno (different to the cleanser but similar ) it the best moisturiser I have used. Its not glamourous but its totally supportive and I reactive and bolsters my skin. I haven't checked to see if they do a face wash because I know the avene suits me, but they do a body wash so they might do.
Also, if your skin is dry its also worth considering having a cream cleanser... I tend to use these not with cotton wool, but my massaging on with fingers then wiping of with a face cloth, then damping the face cloth. Tbh, although I like mine its several times the price of my avene and not as good IMO.
BUT, I would see a doctor if you have skin problems. Confirming I had rosacea not just ' very difficult skin' was helpful, and many 'mild' skin things can be treated very quickly!0 -
One persons sensitive is another's normal
Myself personally, with roseacea and seb derm, if I deviate from Liz Earle I'm in trouble
There is no point in asking for recommendations as we are all different. I learned the hard way, look for the most basic and pure product and work up from there0 -
Thanks for your replies. I am tempted by Liz Earle but I once used a hot cloth and it irritated my skin. Is this cleanser ok to use with cotton wool?0

Hi, if your skin is itchy and sore then I would be cautious about using products containing essential oils such as hot cloth cleansers which do have a high percentage of essential oils.
My skin has become so sensitive recently that all it can tolerate is stuff from the aloe range from body shop, they have no colourants, perfume, parabens or other nasties. And they also have no essential oils, unlike other ranges for sensitive skin which don't work for me. I even use the aloe night cream as a body cream , for some reason the body butter just irritates my skin.0 -
Also have a look at Angela Langford.
She does a lovely cleanser and if you tell her what issues you have she'll send you a free trial pack based on what you need.
You have to pay the P&P, though. About 4.99, I think.0 -
Just re-reading the suggestions here, I know that avene is very good for sensitive skin, they are routinely prescribed by dermatologists in France.0
