    Mildred you can definitely give the 1p sweeties to the food bank. PD and I did that with the Moshi monster sweets, the Lindt eggs, lots of others I can't remember and the volunteers said it was lovely because it meant the kids could have a treat :)

    They tend to have an over abundance of pasta and tinned tomatoes (not that they don't need those items) so it's always a great idea to give something a bit different.

    Saradol mr A do some useful plastic bin things for £3. Useful afterwards as toy boxes. I have some I put holes in that I use to grow potatoes. They also do a very large size and come in quite a few colours.

    I bought lamb chops and it only took £1.98 off
