Whilst in my local Tesco today they were handing out coupons!!

£5 off when you buy your fresh Christmas turkey as part of a £40 or more shop,.;)

No mention on it of how big your turkey has to be, valid from 19/12/13 to 24/12/13

To receive £5 off your fresh Christmas turkey, redeem voucher against a fresh Chritmas trukey when you spend £40 or more in a single transaction in store. Turkey must be included in £40 or more spend. Hand this coupon to the checkout operator at the time of purchase to redeem £5 discount.

That will work very nicely with the coupons from Tesco orchard too ;)

Question...does anyone here ever manage to use coupons for things they haven't bought? I try to buy the actual items, but I sometimes get left with the odd coupon for something I really don't need to buy.

On self-scan, will it always prompt for an assistant? I heard that if you spend over a certain amount, it just goes through. Anyone know? Thanks

Would suggest not trying. To be fair, the acceptance policies are usually good enough without pushing it. As an example, you may find Nouvelle will work for Soft or Softest, as it is not explicit in the description, but using a Nouvelle coupon for Andrex wouldn't be fair (to the store) as they may not be able to redeem the voucher and get the money from the manufacturer.

Self- scan - seem to have different settings in different stores, sometimes in the same store (!), so may prompt even with one voucher, some after a couple. Not worth the embarrassment of them being called to authorise it if it isn't against the right product?

If you asked this on the Coupon Thread you would probably get a more robust response - if you misuse, they may stop accepting vouchers altogether and we all want this for the long run rather than short term discounts.

I never use coupons unless I have bought the product.

If I have a coupon I wont use and its for a fair amount I normally leave said coupon on top of the product instore so another customer can use it.
