Happy Birthday Scamps.
I thought friday 13th was going to be my unlucky day when I was asked at the self service checkout if I was the lady with the coupons. However I was wrong because she said"O good.I have been trying to remember faces,I'll do them now"
Also found a womble with the glitchy bacon on from the other day.0 -
Afternoon
Got my Christmas tree at last :j:j haven't decorated it yet, might do it tonight.
Bagged the S&G set for DDs Christmas so that'll keep her happy. Boots website was a bit dodgy though, I nearly gave up. It kept crashing at payment stage.0 -
I think I am the first up this Friday
My neighbour has been having work done this week. Monday he seemed to be having every bit of plaster off the living room wall so the builder was thumping the wall all day, my headache was desperate.
We live in old cottages and the walls are only one brick thick.
Last night there was a terrible smell of kerosene upstairs. I woke up at midnight and it was so bad I went to sleep downstairs on the sofa with the cats - OH got up at 4 and went off to work at 5
So he had a word with the builder when he got home last night. OH asked builder if he was using a paraffin heater to dry plaster out, no he wasn't. Builder said neighbours central heating was on. The only thing we could think of was that he was using the greenhouse paraffin heater but why ????
Well I was convinced I could smell something again last night and when I woke at 4 I definitely could smell kerosene again.
Our walls are so thin you can smell when the toast is done and neighbour once came round to complain about my OH cooking bacon.
Anyway I'm up now, back on the sofa, washing load in the machine, cup of hot chocolate.

I empathise totally with you as we too have the neighbour from hell. I moved here when I was MUCH younger about 30yrs ago, brand new semi house. All was OK for 6 months. Quiet & peaceful.
I went away for Christmas and when I came back half my garden had gone. Builders still onsite said "Yep he's moved it 10ft+ at bottom" - long garden. They moved it diagonally so fence now can be seen from inside. They had a strange garden before - wide in front of house and then a dog leg narrowing to about 3ft at end. They now have the same at bottom as I have GRRRR
Trouble is builder boss said you'll have to take it up with solicitor, who told me NOT to move it myself, had surveyor out BUT then both came back with 'deeds are for identification purposes only' obviously being new estate wasn't on ordinance survey yet. Cost me hundreds and then got nothing done - no joy! Needless to say I haven't spoken to neighbours since - cheeky !!!!!! said 'You can't prove it!' He's since passed away - I know it's horrid but 'good riddance'. She unfortunately is still there.
They were breeding Persian cats in a shed underneath my bedroom window. OMG the cats pee as they never cleaned them out, I couldn't open the bedroom window for the stench, when they seldom did clean them out, all the debris was sent over the fence into mine. Pity the poor sods who bought them as males were mated with sisters. Then they had a poor dog chained in the middle of their garden with a metal contraption for shade & no water left. The bloke used to go out and jump nastily at it, poor thing was cowed. I called RSPCA but they weren't banned from having animals. That poor thing died not long after. She's now got a dog that barks all bloody night, it's such a stupid mutt it has to have something wrong with it as it barks at its' own shadow.
About a year after moving in they started drilling every day for months into the party wall, day & night. I honestly wondered if they were taking away one skin of blocks - see below. We can hear their TV and their conversations, which wasn't possible before this. They still drill at stupid times like 3am - the son does it when he stays. This was the son who practiced the piano every morning at 6am or before for years - OMG he was BAD!
Now a tale to make you
My dad was a 'proper' builder. His distant cousin moved into a place about a mile away and dad went up. He was totally shocked to find that he'd decided to put up one of those tables which folded against the wall & was attached one side to the wall. The silly !!!!!! had found when he drilled his holes that there was another layer of bricks behind so decided to extend his kitchen by taking that wall of bricks down.
Dad said if he hadn't have gone up when he did the bedrooms would have been downstairs quickly as the joists were barely holding. Of course dad did all the remedial work for nothing.
There's nowt as stupid as some folks!0 -

Don't like the pod ones myself. We tried a few in our Delonghi Expresso - which takes pods as well as ground coffee and couldn't find anything that tasted half decent - wishy washy & tasteless + expensive.
We actually threw quite a few away as they were SO bad. Lidl or Aldi whichever ones won the 'gold awards' How?
As I predicted in the early hours of this morning - Amazon are price matching Tesco. Check any other items that may be sold by Amazon. Might save running around.

I just bought a christmas TV guide from the hospital shop and while it was marked up at 90p, it scanned at 45p. Might scan at this price in other shops....

I'd love it too. I'm sure there is somewhere that does it as I remember looking at them MANY years ago. You'd not lose all the space as stairs are at an angle. The drawers wouldn't take much of the space as otherwise you'd not be able to use them.
However - I still forget I've got some items. I've got a 12ft run of 6ft high units + they are full on top. How easy would it be to forget what was in every drawer?0
