think it would be best to leave it to cool, refridgerate and then reheat. keeping it warm could harvest bacteria

You shouldn't keep it hot til teatime. Best thing to do is cool it quickly and put in the fridge. I wouldn't reheat it especially if you are going to use the leftovers to stretch it. I suppose you could take off what you want to eat at teatime and reheat that very thoroughly.

I think keeping it warm wouldnt be advisable as:
    • It may dry out
    • It wont be as nice
    • It will waste energy keeping it warm
They normally have instructions on the label or the packet as to how to reheat them safely

I think if you try and keep it warm, not only do you run the risk of culturing bugs in it, it'll probably be dried out by tea time.

Never bought hot chicken, but if we warm up leftovers, we put it into gravy and heat until piping hot.

The staff on the hot chicken counter at our local ASDA always say you shouldn't re-heat the chicken AT ALL.

Is that just something they say to cover themselves in some way?
