How does Tesco Cashback work?

Hi all, I know this isnt stricty DFW but not sure where to post it otherwise.

How does cashback work with Tesco? Is it possible to get cashback on a Viisa Credit card or is it only for debit cards? This isnt for me but a friend has just asked me and I dont know the answer to thought id ask.

They are currently getting ready set up a DMP and have no money at present and want to withdraw some money on the credit card without having to pay the stupid rate of interest. This will be the last time they do this as the card will be cut up but they need some money until next week when they get paid.

Do they still get charged as if it was a cash withdrawal?

Cheers

You can't have cashback on a credit card from anywhere.
  • You can only get cashback on a debit card. If your withdrawing money out on a credit card you can use most atm's but it is expensive and will charged for doing so.

Thought that was the case. Thanks for the reply.

I am not sure how they are going to get by until payday and I certainly am not in a position to help them but I think ina way it has made them face up to there debt problems. Next step is to get them on here and try and sort themselves out ;)

Can they pay for someone else's bill on their CC and pick up the cash? I've done that before many times. eg meals/cinema/petrol/supermarket etc etc.
