Making Bath bombs!

Options
Can anyone tell me where I can bulk buy 1kg of sodium bicarbonate and 500g of citric acid cheaply and locally (ie Boots/B&Q etc etc)

Thanks

  • We ordered ours off the internet, I think Ebay. It may be worth checking in the large Asian supermarkets as you can often get big bags of all kinds of interesting things very cheap at them.
  • Wilkinsons do boxes of bicarb, I got a 500g box in there but not sure of price. I expect they also do citric acid
  • Wilkos sell two types of citric acid. There's one with all the laundry stuff and one with the wine making. I couldn't tell you what the difference in the two is but I used the wine making one when I made a couple of bath bombs.

Do chemists sell that kind of thing? I vaguely remember something about the pharmacy having quantities of something or other. I could be wrong though and thinking of something else entirely.!
