Random Gothia Limited on credit report?

It's really strange...I have no clue who they are or what this debt is for...

Status Code:

Balance:
£0 £0 £67

But it is default on my report?! I've never received a letter or anything about this debt either?!

Should I send them the prove it letter??? Bizarre.

How long has it been on your credit file?

What date does it say the account opened? what type of account is it listed as?

Do you have any old unpaid debts you are aware of? any defaults at all? It could be a debt from another company that has now been purchased by debt collectors?

You can also dispute an entry through the credit reference agency, who would then contact the company.

Edit - BCW (Buchanan Clarke Wells) have a division called BCW Group (Gothia) Limited - they have a consumer credit licence so possibly could be them?

If you search the ccl register for licence number 0243596 that will give you a list of trading names this company uses - you could see if any of those look familiar. http://www2.crw.gov.uk/pr/default.aspx

It says Fixed Term deferred payment, default date 10th September 2012.
Current balance: Recoursed <<<< WHAT IS THAT?

Could it be something you acted as a guarantor for?
(not seen recoursed on a credit file before but thinking about its actual meaning made me wonder)

I really have no idea...I haven't received any debt letters or anything, it's just on my report...maybe I should just call them and ask...

Recourse: The lender reported that the account has been transferred to the dealer or retailer who introduced the customer.

    Who did you call?

I would query it either through the credit reference agency or via letter.
It may be easier to do through the CRA as you have no reference number or anything.

I called Gothia and also Experian, Experian said that it's been paid and they're not sure why it's marked as a default - they're going to write to Gothia and see wth is going on and get back to me :)

Just an update for those who may have the same issue. Got an email from Creditexpert today, they're removing the default.

Yay!! No idea what it was all about though?! Och well
