BBC are reporting that all trains in Scotland are currently suspended, but I can't get into the Scotrail site to see what they are saying (wrong sort of leaves on the internet I expect).

Scotrail site OK now though the original link above doesn't work. All services suspended due to gales

    |No, due to debris on the lines such as trees, trampolines and various other goods that blow about in the wind.

Winds have now calmed a bit but all lines need to be checked before they put the lives of crew and passengers at risk.

    .

    And overhead power lines down

Isn't 'gales' a short hand way of saying all that?
