I have been thinking about writing this for a while but just didn't know where to start but felt I had to do this as viewing this forum nearly 4 years ago was the start of me accepting that I had serious money issues. That was the first step, the second was admitting to my wife that I was in serious difficulties, which was probably the hardest thing I had to do. The third step was contacting the CCCS which was recommended on here. After contacting them and going through my debts I just didn't realise how bad things were as I had always managed to pay the minimum payments etc., but after going through everything with the CCCS the total debt was somewhere around £45,000!
After working out a payment plan with them and paying this ever since I can now see light at the end of the tunnel as I have now paid back approximately £40,000 and have only 6 months left on my plan and I will then finally be debt free for the first time in probably 20 years. I can't explain how I am feeling at the moment, I am just so glad I found the courage to pick the phone up to the CCCS and to admit my problems to the wife. So I would urge anyone in a similar position and reading this to take that first step to a debt free life!
