Maybe you never gave the impression of having any money. My mistake was to pay in occasional Premium Bond winnings. This was obviously a trigger for a sales opportunity. This was with the Co-op bank some years ago and I mark their slide from that point.
Might be on to something there! I was asked when paying in money from a car that i withdrew only days latter

I think that is right, as years ago I paid into my account a fairly considerable amount of money which was in my current account as a stop gap until I decided what to do with it. I had more phone calls from my bank in a week than if you add together all the phone calls from them before and since the money went elsewhere. :)

I last got asked for one about 4 years ago when paying in at the ATM. After I had convinced the guy trying to talk me into a review that he needed to double his pension contributions I've not been asked since! I wonder why? They won't let me have any more online fixed accounts anyway.
  • How much are you currently paying each month on your credit card since it depends if you are happy paying out more each month on the loan? to clear it off sooner
since you might earn more in the long run and pay the credit card off in one go anyway
