After the initial :j:j excitement :j:j of learning I have won a massive prize, I am now facing the anti climax at the realisation that I may not be able to claim it...
I've won the main prize this: http://socr.substance001.com/FoxHomeEnts/SOA-S4/facebook/harley_competition/terms.html
particularly this part of the T&C's concerns me:
The winner is required to register as legal owner and shall comply with license and insurance requirements within 2 weeks of receipt of the motorcycle.
I don't have a motorcycle licence (just a full car licence). My mum does and when I entered this it was her I had in mind (and did not pay full attention to the T&C's....not thinking I had any chance of winning...as you do).... it also says the prize is non- transferable.
Has anyone had any similar experiences to this? I want to know how to best approach this with the company when I contact them tomorrow.

In the T&Cs it also says "There is no cash alternative to the prize and unless agreed otherwise in writing the prize is non-refundable and non-transferable."
Maybe worth asking them nicely? Say your mum drives you everywhere! Thanks to all posters :A0 -

I must admit in my frantic reading of the T&C's I hadn't notice the 'unless agreed otherwise in writing' part - this gives me a little bit of hope. I'm going to contact them tomorrow to see how I get on. This would definitely make my mum's christmas!:T*Thanks to all who posts comps * :j0 -
I'd say thank you I entered as a suprise present for my mum she will love it! and see what they come back with x#JusticeForGrenfell0

congratulation what a fantastic prize, just a thought could you get a provisional licence quickly, that means you could then insure it, you wouldn't then have to pas your test.... although if i won it i would want to try!0

Could you could take your bike test? Bit OTT but solves the problem x0

I hope you get to keep it anyway, or your Mum does or whatever. Good luck.Love the animals: God has given them the rudiments of thought and joy untroubled. Do not trouble their joy, don't harrass them, don't deprive them of their happiness.0 -
Thanks toniq x x
In the letter I received (attached to an email) it says I have 6 months to claim the prize so I was thinking would it be possible to take my test within that time span?!
It also says:- Winner must hold a full and valid driving licence and will be responsible for their own insurance, road tax and delivery charges. Model, colour and exact specifications are subject to availability and will be confirmed at the time of purchase. Winners must be able to produce their drivers licence on the day of collection. Please allow up to 8 weeks for collection of the motorcycle. Both passengers will bring helmets in order to collect the motorcycle.

I'm glad you said that as I was thinking the same! After all, that fits the criteria they have asked as it doesn't say *I* have to comply with the licence and insurance.:T*Thanks to all who posts comps * :j0 -
i'm sure you could do your test in that time, my husband did his car one in 9 days and his HGV in 7 days, ( i took 11 weeks for my car) so i don't see why you couldn't pass then collect it, i would book lessons tomorrow if i won bike! hope you get it sorted as it's such a great prize xx0
