I enter a comp, get a call from the promoter which starts with "you entered a competition recently ......" Heart starts pounding, you hold your breath & wait to hear what you have won and they say...."you didn't win but as a thank you we'd like to offer you a discount" 😡

I find it worse than a LEM :mad:

or even worse they try to sell you s ubscriptions - You know who you are , the Torygraph, Jamie Oliver etc

although one time i got one from smooth radio, like this is sarah from smooth radio, you recently entered a competition for a mark warner 5 star resort trip to greece for 4 people... youve won!

Yes I get them too and I hate it when they offer you a subscription - if I say no I always think well do they take my name off the list of possible winners just because i turned them down!?

After I got made redundant in 2010 (working now) I started saying I'd love to buy your wine/mag/paper but I've just been made redundant #sadvoice. It stops them in their tracks every time, I don't think it's on their scripts

I like it when you enter a comp, opt out of newsletters etc and then you have to confirm your entry by clicking the newsletter subscription on your email! whats the point of offering an opt out tick box?
