If you aren't in your first property, how often did you move property (excluding rent)?

How long usually do people wait for the second property in the ladder?

We have only recently moved out of our first house after living there 3.5 years.

The only reason we needed to move was the house was tiny (one of those shoebox 'starter homes') and by that time we had 2 kids and a dog more than when we moved in :)

If our first house was larger we wouldn't have bothered.
  • 5 1/2 years in first house and have just moved into second house.
For the same reasons as above, apart from the dog. :)
