HELP! How do i put looped christmas tree lights on???

I bought some Tesco Christmas tree lights and they are the ones that go round on a loop and for the life of me i CANNOT PUT THEM ON AT ALL!!!!

Anyone know how to do it before i go completely bonkers?? They just keep getting tangled together and its impossible..............

I put the middle of the lights at the top and work downwards each side in a zig zag pattern so half the tree is decorated with one wire from the top and the other with the other, hope that makes sense.

surely if you start your loop on one branch, leave it there, and then work with the rest of the light string, it won't get all tangled? I start with a branch at the back bottom of the tree, put the start of the loop on there, then start winding the rest of the lights around the tree, bottom to top. With a loop, you can also either start at the top and take the loop down either side, or if you have lots of lights on your loop, double it up and treat it like a double rope of lights :).

I did have a little go at this but tbh i'd just got in from work and i didnt have the patience but will give it another go!
  • Firstly, I basically ignore the loop and put them on the tree as a double strand. Then I separate them until they look good and are evenly distributed.
