Options
Can anyone recommend some to fix damp in semi detached house in east Belfast. I have had two men out and not only are their quotes £1000's different, what they say is poles apart too. Really don't know who to believe so any guidance/recommendations would be appreciates:A

could you post some photo's and a few descriptions ..

It is pretty important to help anyone offer advice
  • You might consider getting an independent remedial consultant to have a look at the damp problem first. have a look at this thread for details:

Possibly buy a de-humidifier and see if that helps first?

Before you spend, check for a reason for the damp. Frequently it can be a blocked gutter, cracked downpipe, outside ground (flower bed or path) above the DPC level, cracked or blocked drain, damaged pointing, blocked air vent, cracked roof tile or lead tile, leaking flashing, and probably lots more that those more experienced than me could add. I can't recommend anyone to advise you as I've never used anyone working with damp. Someone will have!
