Ideas to kick start my metabolism

I got married in June and between then and September put on approx 10lb.
I have since Sept lost about 3lb but still have 7lb-10lb to go to be ideal.
I exercise for 45 mins every morning and eat relatively healthy but not a great deal.
I just don't feel hungrey. Like now, I'm in from work and myfitnesspal is telling me I've got another 935 calories to eat today and I can't face it, yet I know I need to so my metabolism works.
I want to go back to how I was but have no idea how.
ANy ideas people?

Hi 74jax, Have you tried eating more frequent small meals rather than three big ones. I think this helps in increasing the metabolism rate. You may find it difficult in the first few days but our bodies gets used to the way we eat pretty quickly.
Have you also tried changing your exercise routine as bit to give a bit of shock to the body as that also sometimes kickstarts weight loss.

I've been trying that for the last week, I've had breakfast then a banana at about 10.30, lunch at 1 and then an apple at about 2.30ish and then dinner at around 6, so I don't think it's too bad really.
Someone mentioned green tea but then when i read about it, you need to drink about 6 glasses of it to do anything and I already drink about that of water (plus not sure I could face that much green tea...............)Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -
ooo and on the gym i do vary what i do, last week i did 45 mins high cardio and this week 30 mins cardio and 15mins weights, I did do indoor bootcamp so vary it daily.Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0

Can't recommend this diet highly enough. It defies everything we have been taught about dieting and exercise.

It is in 3 phases. The first phase lasts for 5 days & then you move onto phase 2 whilst you need to lose weight. Once you have reached your target weight, you move on to phase 3 which is designed to keep your weight stable.
I would advise you to buy the book & the recipe book too.0 -
If you base your diet around lean chicken, fish(steamed or baked) fruit and vegetables you will definatley lose weight. You need to cut out all fats lke butter, cheese, etc and bread biscuits and alcohol and very little carbs.
So if you have something like scrambled eggs for breakfast or porridge made with skimmed milk and water, lunch a chicken salad or home made veg soup and tea something like a piece of salmon with lots of steamed green veg you will lose weight. Snacks can be apples or pears/ oranges etc. Bananas can be quite sugary.
Every time I've stuck to this and done it properly the weight just falls off me and I've got a slow metabolism. Running is also very good for weight loss, you could do a few runs at the weekend or before work.0 -
Avoid caffeine. Avoid tap water & swimming in chlorinated water. It might be worth you reading up on Lugols Iodine and it's effects, including reducing breast cancer risk and it's detoxification of all the halogens we are swamped with, chlorine/chloride, fluorine/fluoride and bromides. Think of tap water and everything that tap water is used to make, animals drinking water, water crops etc.
Lugols iodine 3% 1 drop contains about 1.5mg of Iodine which is 100x the RDA. It affects the bodies use of insulin, lowering the bodies requirements and insulin is one of the greatest promoters of weight gain. Just look at the modern western diet, massive amounts of carbohydrates which is causing widespread weight gain!
Iodine used to be a cure all many years ago but since then has been replaced with far less beneficial things such as antibiotics which are more profitable. Iodine isn't a cure all but is still very beneficial if used correctly. Spend some time reading up on it and it will be time well spent.0 -
I'm trying to lose weight, too. One thing that's helped me is cutting out sugar! I lost 4lbs in one week...No candy or white sugar, very little bread/pasta/rice...mainly just poultry and veggies, with fruit sometimes. Basically, eating "clean".♥ Be thankful for what you have; you'll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don't have, you will never, ever have enough. ♥ :beer:0
