I want I be free of debt my 31/12/14

I'm hoping you can all help me on my debt free journey. I had just the 1 credit card and the amount on it just grew and grew on what I don't know.

Now I plan to try n have completely paid by 2014

I have transferred some of the balance to two other cards at 0% but I need to open a third to get more transferred and then take a look at paying the what's left as that card as a interest of 6.9%

I currently owe around £6500 on credit card
I have a bank loan of £186 per month to finish April 2015
And then a small catalogue bill of £207.87 no interest

I plan to do a soa if anyone can give me the link

I also plan to use eBay topcash back change my gas and electricity sort my change pot. I'm aiming to have everything ready to go 1st December. Balances shifted to 0% etc......

Looking forward to sharing my journey as feeling really positive.

Just in process of opening another 0% to c if I can get all moved to 0% then I can start chipping away
  • Well that all of cc transferred to 0% cards . Im a bit scared of having 3 cards rho instead of one. I need t get internet banking set up so can fire instant payments across

Still feeling positive. Need t think of some ideas to top up earnings especially if I want it all cleared within a year

Instead I bought a doll and bits grand total £14 I used my debit card so not added to debt but still a spend. I am definitely done now tho for youngest two. Gonna right a list ands tick to it.

    Jeans
    Top
    Aftershave set
Something for lads girlfriend she's 16?????
    Friend baby
    1 boys toy

I reckon I can do that for £75

    Then that's it just food.

  • Best of luck with your journey - it's always refreshing to see someone with the courage to sort their debt out as it's all too easy to just try and bury it.

While you're really positive about it, get into the moneysaving mindset for Christmas to give you a flying start in the new year - save wherever possible - think about making, rather than buying presents - get the kids to make some jewelry for your lads girlfriend for instance - some elastic, a few nice beads, maybe some charms thrown in, all with some quality time together with your family and a cheap but personal gift which will be appreciated far more than a gift voucher.

For those things that do need a bit of cash - find those bargains, shop around, take advantage of all the offers on this website, use the moneysaving mantras, and you'll be off to a great start. You've made all the right moves so far, getting the budgets together, working out how to reduce the burdens, you sound like you've got a good plan and that's the best way to set yourself up for success.

    Best of luck!

Getting your card debt on to 0% deals is a good start.
Presumably you won't be using any of the cards for any new spending at all? (not even if you plan to repay the following month - as you would still be charged interest).

Hopefully once you have done the SoA and worked out what you can afford to the debts then you can calculatea debt free date and see if you are likely to be able to clear all the debts before the 0% deals finish.

    Good luck.

Next step in plan is to get gas and electric meters readings across and have a look at where I can save. I wanna switch also as def think as saving t be made there
  • Advice please .

I have open 3 cards t shift all debt over to 0%

    Card 1 0% till july 2015
    Card 2 0% till june 2015
    Card 3 0% till feb 2016

Which one do I aim at clearing first.
