I got gas installed in Aug and signed up with Airtricity as I thought they had dual fuel discounts (only in ROI apparently).
I am thinking of changing to Firmus as they seem to be far cheaper , but the question is when is the best time to switch.
The first 2000 units are charged at a higher price , so I'm guessing I would be back to square one if I switch ?
I take it I'm best waiting until the start of the new billing period ?
I would hazard a guess the billing period starts 1st April ?
Any help appreciated

I'm on the firmus Greater Belfast online tariff.
The higher price is for the first 2000 kWh of gas.

My bills are generated quarterly. I use >8000 kWh per annum so get their maximum discount. On each bill the first 500 kWh is charged at the higher rate and the remainder at the lower, so they seem to split the 2000 kWh over each quarter.0
