How can I stop fish repeating on me?

Options
I'm sitting here doing fishy burps and its really annoying me! I love fish, but whenever I eat it I spend the next several hours with it repeating on me. Does this happen to anyone else? Is there anything I can eat or drink to counteract it? :(

Personally, I look on this as an extra, no-cost, no-calorie meal. :)

A mint sweet or some mint tea usually helps.
If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5? :)

the reason that herbs are often used in dishes is to prevent just this! Dill is often paired with fish - and its a fantastic herb for the digestive system - Used to be used in colic remedies for babies and for adults. so try garnishing with fresh dill or use fresh/dried in a sauce.
Parsley is used for the same reason - its not as efficacious as dill - you have to eat more of it to get the same result!

I did grow parsley in pots this year for the guinea pigs. I will have to plant some dill for myself otherwise I will have a fight on my hands ;)

Make sure you don't put a lot of salt on it.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Can you try eating a smaller meal than usual and see if that helps?

For some reason it happens even with a small amount. Yesterday I only had half of a sandwich with poached salmon in it and within 20 mins I had started!

    Oh dear!

Maybe you simply have an intolerance to it? This year since seeing gastero enterologist and having lots of tests for things like that I'm taking things like that more seriously. :o

If I were in your shoes I'd try in a small way with herbs/ spices that help digestion, like asofaetida, or fennel and eat lightly. But stay alert in case this becomes more something you should ask your GP for a referral about!
