I just can't see how it's going to work. As I said on another thread, what's going to happen is that one of these drones will land in a Housing Executive estate and the local Sammies will set about it and reduce it to the component parts of a Meccano set.
How would the drone ring the bell to let you know it's there?
How would it deliver a parcel in safety?
I'd love it to work but I can see the concept beset with serious problems to overcome first.0 -
my first drone order with amazon would be a catapult0

But it's a start to what will eventually be the future.
> Drone could call you when it arrives.
> You could request for it to be delivered at a certain time - like when you're in.
> Drone could auto deliver to safe place or neighbour (yes not in a shed but I'm not paid to think of the answer!).
Bearing in mind the plans show the drone zone is only 10 miles from the warehouse. In the future nationwide with more warehouses / bigger better drones but for now, 10 miles seems sensible to develop the product.
This is the wrong section for this anyway as it's not N.Ireland specific. It's also posted here.0 -
of course money saving is priority for us as we order our consumer rubbish in time for the spending climax of the year but spare a thought for the actual humans working in amazon.
it would appear that amazon wishes that they were machines too.

This has already been discussed elsewhere on the site and the general consensus is that doing the amazon warehousing jobs is no worse than anything else any of us have ever done or heard of being done.0 -
