Where can you go BR?

Does it have to be a local court you go BR at...I have about 4 quite close to me, all within 15/20 miles. I was just wondering because if one is really busy and you can't go BR for ages, can you try another court?

You should ring the courts anyway, as some will let you been seen on the day & some operate an appointment system - if you want to go to a certain one, then it's best that you ring asap to find out their procedure & get your name down asap. I think you have to put your name down with the court that covers your postal area. I don't think you can go to one outside your area if you have courts available regardless of how long you might have to wait unless you can provide proof of why you can't wait eg you've got a holiday/operation booked - I'm pretty sure you can only go to a court outside your area if the courts book you there themselves, & that's usually only if certain circumstances apply eg they are overloaded with bookings at your own particular court. Check that with your courts though, because if you have so many courts available that deal with BR hearings, maybe there won't be a long waiting list anyway.
If you are worried about bumping into people you know, don't be. People go to court for loads of reasons including just for information - there's no reason for anyone to assume you're filing for BR just because they see you there, plus they'll probably be wondering if you're thinking the same thing about them anyway.

Hi Experiment626
I did not know what local court i needed to go to so the best thing to do is check this link out https://www.courtservice.gov.uk
and click on court information and address and then you can look up the local court and it tell you if it deals with bankruptcy or not.
I hope this helps you
