Bookmarking comps/threads

Hey! Can anyone point me in the right direction for a link on how to do this? My brain is rather fuzzy and am having a little trouble sifting through to forum at the mo (and I have a toddler climbing on me XD)

Thanks!

It depends which browser you are using. What Internet Explorer calls "favourites", Firefox calls "bookmarks" for example.

I use Firefox and if I wanted to bookmark this page, I would simply click on the heading "Bookmarks", then on "bookmark this page"

I take it this is re Advents?

I'm not sure what others are doing but my way is to go to the main thread & open any threads that interest me in new FFox tabs.

I will then add the URLs to an email & send it to myself.I will open this & use the live links each day to do the Advents.I need to do it this way as I use multiple PCs for comping so saving files or normal bookmarking will not work.

    HTH.

In a similar way on the Firefox browser, you can open all the comps you want to enter in new tabs, then right click on any of the open tabs and choose 'Bookmark All Tabs' (and you can save them in a folder within your bookmarks). EDIT TO ADD - you can then export your bookmarks to have them as a list too. I'm sure there's probably apps and firefox add ons to help manage your bookmarks too.

I don't tend to use bookmarking, instead I subscribe to the comps on MSE and have created an advents folder within my subscriptions which is where they are saved too. That way it means I also get the little 'subscribed' icon next to the thread title on the forums. This helps me to clearly identify the advent comps amongst the page of threads.

    Thanks.Kisto.

I have lots of bookmarks on the primary PC that I use for posting etc but for the Advents I'm going to try the above as I need a solution that I can use on multiple PC's.

Sorry I was more offering advice to the OP rather than you, if that makes sense! I was adding to the great advice you'd already given (which is why I quoted you)! :D

If you use Firefox or compatible browsers on all your devices you can sync your bookmarks, so the same bookmarks appear on each device.

Share bookmarks, tabs and more with your other computers

Just to say, you can quickly bookmark all tabs on Firefox by just pressing CTRL + Shift + D and choose whichever folder you want to bookmark to. (Think this method only works with Firefox)

And if you wanted to bookmark one by one, you just press CTRL + D (This should work for all browsers)

I do same as kisto & subscribe to the ones I want,
that way you'll also get an instant email (if you've clicked on the instant
notification) or you can have a daily notification as soon as the new answer/comp is posted,
some of them I copy/paste into faves as well then can enter without logging in if they're ones that just need entering each day without new answers.
please be a responsible pet owner & spay/neuter your pets, too many strays & not enough homes for them sadly. k2u58ioz4c8e.png

  • Thanks everyone! I thought maybe there was a way of bookmarking on the forum, but this way seems easier :) Those advents take waayyy too long to sift through! xxx
