Induction hob query

We currently have no kitchen. I am cooking with the help of the remoska and microwave and last week I bought a Tefal one burner tabletop induction hob. It is brilliant and means we can have boiled eggs, veg etc etc BUT Theres a manual control where the heat settings go from P1 to P9, I do things like cooking spuds at P3 or P4 once they have come up to the boil, but on P4 it keeps switching itself to the error message E2 which means it's apparently overheating. Since P4 is quite a low setting I am a bit confused - is it supposed to do that ? It switches to E2 then stops bubbling but only for a moment, then switches back to P4. Perhaps that's how its supposed to work, but I'd be reassured if anyone else has one of these. There doesnt seem to be a tefal Customer Services department who I could phone and ask. Help !

hi, I think its like the way my old electric cooker went. it would go to the temperature for the knob you chose ie........p2 is say 150 so when it reaches that it knocks off rather than rising above that heat then it just idles at that heat. I hope this makes sense................I know what I mean lolC.R.A.P.R.O.L.L.Z #7 member N.I splinter-group co-ordinater

I find 4 is too high to simmer potatoes & veg on my induction hob and always use 3. It doesn't simmer madly but still cooks. Mine doesn't switch itself to anything else on 4 it just bubbles over and makes a mess of the hob which needs cleaning up - another reason to stick to 3.
