Bad credit 100% mortgage

Does anyone know if you can get a 100% mortgage with a bad credit history. I have an old satisfied CCJ and a few old defaults, everythiing has been perfect for the past 2 years, any help would be appreciated..

My credit rating was ropey when I got a 100% mortgage from Natwest a few years ago. No defaults but a few late payments up to 4 months late. Best thing to do is go somewhere and ask for objective advice without going through an application.

100% mortgages tend to be pretty strict with their underwriting. However, depending on the amounts, and how long they have been resigesered, you may still get a 100% despite the mis-haps on your credit file

There are two lenders that will explicitly consider "adverse" credit 100% deals (Future Mortgages and First National/IGroup) depending on the level of adverse. If the adverse credit is old/satisfied then you may be able to access a 100% product aimed at "Prime" borrowers, it will depend on a number of factors. However as Herbie says, if they are lending 100% you will tend to find that the high street lenders do understandably err on the side of caution.
  • You may be Ok. Credit scoring criteria is different for mortgages than loans/credit cards.
