Dried fruit left soaking in brandy

About 6 weeks ago I put some dried fruit to soak in brandy, then made my Christmas cake with most of it. I just went to use the pot (the crockpot from my slow cooker) and found quite a bit still in there.
Do you think it's still usable? It looks and smells fine and I could make some mincemeat with it but I don't want to poison anyone.

Aiming to get healthy in 2014.

Thank you - I thought it would be okay, but also knew that if there was some lurking invisible fungus someone on the OS board would have let me know within a microsecond:rotfl:Aiming to get healthy in 2014.0

I don't think there's much will grow on it because of the alcohol as well as the sugar content of the dried fruit.
It should make very tasty mincemeat.0 -
Or bottle it as a christmas giftNon me fac calcitrare tuum culi0

totally fine and very delicious! Fruit preserved in alcohol only needs to be sealed to keep dust out and stop the alcohol evaporating. It will keep for months and flavour the brandy as well (just as fresh fruit can do eg cherry brandy etc)0

Just opened my Victioria plums in rum which I bottled in September - just plums, sugar and rum sealed and left in the dark........delicious :-)Downshifted
